Stratton Parish Council have now installed a new bench adjacent to the alms-houses in Dorchester Road, replacing the one that was there previously that had become rotten and unsafe.
Following a request from the families of two former residents of the alms-houses, the Parish Council were very happy for the bench to be dedicated to these two previous long-standing residents – Mrs. Gladys Gould and Mrs. Maureen Lloyd.
Memorial plaques for these two ladies, who are sadly missed by their families, were fitted by their relatives on Thursday evening, 17th September 2020.
The families and friends of the two ladies have contributed towards the cost of the new bench and Stratton Parish Council thanks them very much for their donations.
