DORSET COUNCIL has issued an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users.
The Order comes in to operation on 15 March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 March 2024.
Works to take place between 2000hrs and 0600hrs. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential carriageway maintenance works. The effect of the Order is as follows: [1] To impose temporary road closure on A37 at Stratton between the railway bridge and Grimstone [2] To impose temporary clearway on A37 Stratton between the railway bridge and Grimstone to prevent vehicles stopping except those associated with the works
Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.
