Stratton Parish Council is very annoyed and disappointed to find the new seat on the children’s zip wire slide on the playing field has again been significantly damaged.

The parish council only replaced the seat about a month ago following the previous seat also being badly damaged.

It appears evident from the teeth marks on the seat that the damage has been caused by a dog and it is totally unacceptable that any person has allowed or encouraged their animal to cause this sort of damage to the council’s property provided for public use.

The Parish Council considers this an act of criminal damage which discussions with the police have confirmed. On finding the person responsible or if any further damage occurs the matter will be immediately referred to the police for further action.

Dog owners are reminded that their animals are only allowed on the playing field by permission of Stratton Parish Council. Whilst it is appreciated that the majority of dog owners act responsibly, if further damage to public property occurs, then the Parish Council will consider revoking that permission and ban dogs from the playing field altogether. It would be very sad indeed if this anti-social and illegal behaviour results in such action, which will, of course, will then apply to all dogs and their owners.
