Stratton Parish Council has been in contact with both Dorset Council Highways and Colas, the contractor who will undertake the road resurfacing through the village, to find out why the work was not commenced as scheduled.

We were advised that notices would go up, either today or tomorrow, of the forthcoming closure, posted on signage posts already in the village, e.g. speed posts, as well as large signs at road level. Work will probably commence at the end of this week.

Highways have also said the resurfacing will be carried out a stretch at a time, half of the road at a time, with a person managing the ‘to and fro’ of traffic at the work site, so there should still be access and egress to all parts of the village during the 9am-4pm time specified for closure.
