The Parish Council has just received a message from a friend of a Councillor (who lives in New York), that the Village has been citied in a recent News Flash release issued by the White House. Nobody on the Parish Council is aware of what the ‘Fake’ News article was or who produced it. Any person in the Parish who has any idea of what it is all about please contact the Parish Clerk as we would be interested to know.

‘A White House announcement has just been made that President Trump is sending a task force of FBI Agents to the U.K. This to track down a nefarious ‘Fake’ News article originating and concerning the village of Stratton in Dorset, U.K. With mid-term elections coming up in the USA in a few months, President Trump is concerned about the chances of Democrat Senators being elected in the vital and narrowly held States of Colorado and Nebraska. Details state that the ‘Fake’ News has recently been circulated in the towns of Stratton, Kit Carson County (Colorado) and Stratton, Hitchcock County (Nebraska) and has greatly agitated residents against the local Republican Party.
Speaking in Washington yesterday, Cory Gardner (Republican) Senator for Colorado is concerned that the previously solid ‘Republican’ County of Kit Carson, in which the town of Stratton is located, could swing to the Democrats if the ‘Fake’ news article was fully published and believed.
An Aide to Ben Sasse (Republican) Senator for Nebraska was equally concerned that the town of Stratton, Hitchcock County, again a strong ‘Republican’ County, could be affected by the ‘Fake’ News article.
No details of when the FBI force are to leave the USA was given. Communications are currently being held with the U.K. Government, to ascertain, what powers the FBI Officers would have after tracking down the source of the ‘Fake’ News article in Dorset. Unofficial quotes that the U.K. Government has been asked to take action under their legislative powers in the Criminal Law Act 1779, as amended by the Transportation Act 1834, to transport the source of the ‘Fake’ News to Australia is most unlikely to occur.
