From 9th July there will be disruption to traffic at the Yeovil end of the village.
In order to connect the new housing development to mains drainage the contractors will need to dig up Dorchester Road from the site down to the start of the Village Green. It is anticipated that the work will take between three and four weeks.
Originally the contractors wanted to close the entire road but considerable negotiation by Stratton Parish Council with both the contractors and Highways has resulted in agreement for a partial closer of the road instead, managed by traffic lights.
Stratton Parish Council continues to work with the Highways department to locate suitable and safe parking for the Dorchester Road residents directly affected and will provide further updates as information becomes available.
