Stratton Parish Council is pleased to announce the replacement of ‘The Year 2000 Millennium Stratton Map’ and the new map is now in place in the map stand on the Village Green.

Parish Councillors have been working for some six months to track down the master copies of the images for both sides of map and eventually both were retrieved. The original piece of art work for one side of the map was discovered, thanks to Rod and Janette from the Saxon Arms, and the other side also found. Images for both sides have now been scanned and processed by a local print company and the brand-new map returned to us. It is hoped that the new map will last as long as the original one.

The opportunity has also been taken to ensure that the Parish Council now holds an electronic copy of the two images should they be needed in the future.

The cost of printing the new map and its restoration to the stand on the village green came to less than £100.
