Stratton Parish Council has received the following road closure notice from Dorset Council Highways Department.

Dorset council has made a notice under section 14(2) of the Road traffic Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A37 Grimstone and Stratton from the junction with Sydling Road, Sydling St Nicholas to the junction with A352, North Street, Charminster (in both directions), a distance of approximately 4900metres.  The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.  It will come into operation overnight on 5th April 2022 between 21.00 and 06.00 and remain in force for five nights, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6th April.

This notice will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependent. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

For further information about the work being undertaken, call Dorset Highways Operations on 01305 228100.  To discuss this Notice, call Dorset Highways Traffic Team on 01305 221022 or email trafficteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.  Find this information online at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks-events.
