Stratton Parish Council has recently had removed, from the village green, three large trees which were causing various problems as a result of their size and location.

They have now been replaced with two of a different species. The three trees that were felled were Hornbeam and they have been replaced with two of the Rowan or Mountain Ash variety, one with red berries (sorbus aucuparia), and one with white berries (sorbus cashmiriana).

The new trees have also been planted further into the green to avoid the previously encountered problems.
